We took part in the congress "Adjustment to Stress – Activities and Health of the New Generations in the 21st Century"
Ivica Orešković, graduate kinesiologist, the ITF expert associate and leader of the "Top Spin Tennis Club" children's programme, gave a lecture entitled "Sport of the New Generations – Work with Untalented Children."
"The main goal of working with children is to satisfy their need for exploring and discovering their own boundaries, at the same time respecting the limitations imposed by their age. It is necessary to stimulate creativity and actively participate in the development of their skills and the adoption of techniques geared towards developing self-confidence. In working with adults, the goal is to stabilize the manner of playing, which is conditioned by individual psycho-physical abilities. It was a challenge to work with children and beginners, and particularly with the "untalented". When parents ask me about their children's talent, I still respond with a counter-question: do you have to remind your child that he/she has a training session? If the answer is "no", or in other words, if the child is looking forward to training, then he or she is talented enough to learn the skills needed for tennis. If there was no success in the learning process, the child would not look forward to trainings. What children need is the "talent" of their teacher, who tries to take them to the boundaries of their abilities."

Ivan Ljubičić becomes the PBZ Zagreb Indoors ATP Tournament ambassador
Ivan Ljubičić, former tennis player ranked third in the world, joined the Zagreb Indoors ATP Tournament as an ambassador. The cooperation between the tournament and the well known Croatian tennis player is a continuation of Ljubičić's long-lasting sports career. Ivan won the first PBZ Zagreb Indoors in 2006 and took part in seven tournaments altogether. The link between PBZ Zagreb Indoors and Ivan does not include only business cooperation but also friendship. The tournament management did not perceive Ivan's leaving professional sport in 2012 as a break in their cooperation but as an opportunity to further strengthen good relations.

The biggest event in the history of Croatian golf
On my behalf I would like to thank you very much indeed for the fantastic time we had in Zagreb. The hospitality we felt from all people, involved in the organization, was most impressive. This applies also to the managers of the three golf courses, who were involved in hosting the Cahmpionship, the Cup and the Presidents Cup. Whether in Croatia or in Slovenia, we could not tell the diffrende and felt very much at home. The hospitality really felt as a warm bath.
The well organized closing ceremony was the great final of a most enjoyable and successfull week in Zagreb!
Finally, I hope that you and all your colleagues will look back at this event with great satisfaction. They deserve it!

Kindest regards,
Rolf Olland
Vice President and General Secretary of ESGA

Tennis Jubilee – Istrian Riviera Celebrates Its 40th Birthday
The Istrian Riviera, a tennis tournament with the longest international tradition in Croatia, has been the pride of Istria and Croatia for as many as 40 years. Every year, four Istrian host towns gather the young tennis elite, those who are up-and-coming. In the sporting sense, the Istrian Riviera has always been a "springboard" for young tennis players from where they have won their first ATP points and entered the world of professional tennis. The Istrian Riviera has also raised many others involved in sports. It is precisely at this tournament that generations of Croatian umpires have built their names and authority and acquired precious experience. The Istrian Riviera has also brought forth the two most successful ATP tournament directors in Croatia: Branimir Horvat and Slavko Rasberger. The Istrian Riviera tennis tournament has integrated tourism and professional sport, thus paving the way for today's ATP tournament in Umag. Thomas Muster, Richard Krajicek, Petr Korda, Cedric Pioline, Ivan Ljubičić, Goran Prpić, Bruno Orešar, Slobodan Živojinović, Ivo Karlović, Mima Jaušovec, Renata Šašak, Sabrina Goleš, Goran Ivanišević, Boris Becker and many others have been launched to the top from the Istrian tennis courts.

Acknowledging the past charitable activities of Top Spin, the ATP has included the ATP tournament PBZ ZAGREB INDOORS among the exclusive company of 14 selected recipients for the year 2012. The 14 recipients include, in addition to Roger Federer and Andy Roddick, six players and six tournaments. As part of the “ACES for Charity” programme, the ATP has donated a 10,000 Euro grant to enhance the continuation of charitable work. The money has been presented to the Children’s Home in Zagreb and it will enable workers at the Children's Home to continue their mission of caring for 250 needy children, overseeing their development and teaching young mothers about responsible parenthood.

We are very happy that in these times of crisis we can help put back at least a little smile on children's faces! Top Spin Team

The European Senior Golfers Association – ESGA, has entrusted the organisation of the 31st European Senior Golf Championship, under the official title: XXXI ESGA CHAMPIONSHIP & CUP 2012 Zagreb – Croatia, to the Croatian Senior Golfers Association and the agency Top Spin.

The Championship will be held from 8 to 12 July 2012 on the golf courses in Zagreb and Mokrice. This is the largest and most important international golf event in the short history of Croatian golf, involving the participation of 22 teams with 300 senior golfers in all.

In response to the enquiries received by a number of parents, we have launched a PLAY & STAY tennis workshop. The project leader is Ivica Orešković, a world renowned expert and ITF co-operator, who has joined the TOP SPIN team. The goal of the workshop is to present tennis as a game which can be easily learnt, and which can be great fun when you „serve, play and compete“. The workshop is held at the „National Tennis Centre“, in an environment suited to children (open areas for games which develop coordination, creativity, the ability to make decisions and other skills needed in a game of tennis).

From March 16 to April 10, 2011, due to the ITF Futures Tournament ISTARSKA RIVIERA, a part of the TOP SPIN office will be working in 3 locations in Istria. More on contacts on
